This exquisite floor was crafted by the Belgian company Saint Ghislain and salvaged from a maison de maître near Namur. It showcases the flowing elegance of Art Nouveau design, featuring a blue, plant-inspired field tile surrounded by matching full-size and half-size borders.

Rare ceramic Art-Nouveau floor

This floor has been reclaimed from a Belle Epoque house near Dinant. The field and border tiles display the elegant lines, curves and organic shapes that are so typical for the Art-Nouveau design. De border tiles can be laid as a single lay or double (back to back). The floor has been made by the Belgian company Gilliot Hemiksem briefly after 1910. Some tiles show edge nibbles but this can be expected from a floor which is more than a 100 years old.

This floor has been reclaimed from a Belle Epoque house close to Dinant. The field and border tiles show the elegant lines, curves and organic shapes that are so typical for the Art-Nouveau design. Rare antique octogonal floor with an elegant flower theme and inserts (cabochons) pré 1910

This rare floor has been reclaimed from a Maison de Maitre near Dinant and has been made by Gilliot Hemiksem before 1910. The white field tile shows an elegant flower motif. The connecting cabochons (insirts) display a gold flower pattern. Some tiles have edge nibbles but this can be expected from a floor of more than 100 years old.

Antique encaustic floor tiles with triple border in a cool color pallete

These old tiles have been reclaimed from a fine house near Ath (Belgium). They were stamped and made by the Belgian company Moiralme. The plane tiles show “false” cabochons, creating the impression of an octagonal tile rather than a square one.

Rare reclaimed thistle themed floor

This beautiful floor with thistle pattern has been reclaimed from a Belle Epoque home near Luik (Belgium). The vegetal theme of thistles was used regularly throughout the Art-Nouveau period. This is why most tile producers added thistle themed tiles to their trade catalog. This floor has been made and stamped by the Belgian company Moiralmé

Reclaimed encaustic mosaic floor tiles from the 1920’s with original double border

These ceramic encaustic floor tiles date from 1920 and have been reclaimed from an old vicarage. The floor tiles were produced by the Belgian company produits céramiques de Saint-Ghislain. The false mosaic design was popular before world war one and again often used in the 1920-1930. The strong geometric motif and warm palette will bring character to every room.

Antique ceramic Art-Nouveau floor with a twist

These floor tiles have been reclaimed from a house near Brussel. The field tiles were produced at the beginning of the 20th century by the Belgian company Amay.
The floor has a cool color palette with ice blue and shades of grey as dominant colors. The a matching domino themed border tiles are made by Rebaix around the same time period. The floor has an antique and rich patina with color variations. More than a 100 years ago these tiles were made by hand and clay color was mixed by the eye also the firing time could vary and contribute to these subtle tonal variations. Some tile show edge nibbles and small groutable chips.
