Rare French Art Deco floor tiles with snowdrop theme (circa 1925)

These encaustic floor tiles with snowdrop theme have been reclaimed from a Bourgeois house near Courtrai. The tiles were produced and stamped by Societe Mosaique-Ceramique Maubeuge from France. There is a picture of this floor in their catalogue from 1925. These beautiful art deco floor tiles have a strong geometric pattern that can be laid in different ways. Some tiles have edge nibbles and groutable chips. Originally this floor was framed by a half size border tile in black and white with flower motif. These small tiles were produced by Amay.
